Local Regional Report

Write for us

Local Regional Report welcomes clear, well-supported pitches about landscapes, routes, place names, buildings and shared places that help readers understand connections between neighbouring communities.

What to pitch

Propose one focused subject with lasting reader value. A strong pitch explains the central question, the main point you would make, why the topic suits this publication and what reliable sources could support the piece. Comparisons, explanations and close readings of a feature of place are welcome when they avoid sweeping claims.

What makes a good submission

Write for a curious general reader. Define unfamiliar terms, distinguish evidence from interpretation and avoid treating one example as representative of an entire region. Tell us about relevant experience or sources without overstating what they establish. Uncommissioned drafts may not be suitable for consideration.

How to send a proposal

Send pitches and proposed contributions through the Contact page, selecting the editorial question option and including a short outline. Please do not send confidential or sensitive personal information. A proposal is not a guarantee of publication.
